Abstract
The objective of this research was to regulate plant height in raising of red pepper seedling by controlling phosphorus concentration. To achive this, NHRI¢¥s (National horticultural research institute) nutrient solutions with various phosphorus concentration were applied in different growth stage, which were classified into 4 by dividing 60 days of experiment period to 15 days. Changes of plant height were investigated in every 15 days. The treatment of phosphorus deficiency during 16 to 45 days after sowing had more growth retardation than any other treatments tested. The treatment of 30 days phosphorus deficiency showed inhibition of growth. and defoliation of lower leaves. Plant height of the treatments with 15 days phosphorus deficiency from 16 to 30 days and from 31 to 45 days after sowing were 26.8 §¯ and 28.7 §¯, respectively. These were considered as optimal plant height for mechanical transplanting.
